The short answer
A structured audio lesson may give you a prompt and a model response to say aloud. After the lesson, choose one useful sentence and change a detail: the person, place, day, or reason. This asks you to retrieve the pattern instead of repeating only the original line.
Turn a lesson response into a flexible phrase
Keep the sentence short enough to say without reading. If you need to check a verb or preposition, look it up once, then try again from memory.

Add an unscripted follow-up and listen to the reply
Choose one question that could lead to a new answer, such as Onde fica…? (Where is…?) or Você prefere…? (Do you prefer…?). A partner, teacher, or language practice tool can give you a reply you did not memorize. Listen for the main idea, then ask one follow-up or use a repair phrase if you missed a detail.
This routine is complementary practice, not a test of a course or a promise of a particular fluency level. Compare learning tools by trying a sample against your own goals and noticing which activities you will return to.
