Talk About Working Remotely in Portuguese: Place, Schedule, and Breaks
You can explain your work routine with a few everyday phrases instead of specialized business vocabulary.

The short answer
Trabalho de casa means “I work from home,” and trabalho remotamente means “I work remotely.” You can also describe a mixed routine by saying which days you go to the office. Choose the phrasing that matches your own arrangement; work policies and routines differ.
Say where you work
Trabalho de casa três dias por semana.
I work from home three days a week.
Vou ao escritório às terças e quintas.
I go to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Meu horário é flexível.
My schedule is flexible.
Mention meetings and the shape of your day
A reunião is a meeting. Combine it with a time or a simple action: tenho uma reunião às dez (I have a meeting at ten), depois vou almoçar (then I’m going to have lunch). That is often all you need for everyday small talk about work.
Tenho uma reunião daqui a pouco.
I have a meeting in a little while.
Depois do almoço, vou terminar um relatório.
After lunch, I’m going to finish a report.
Describe a break or a work preference
Fazer uma pausa means to take a break. Use it to describe when you step away, or add a preference with gosto de… (I like to…). These are simple ways to share what makes your routine work for you without making a universal claim about remote work.
- Faço uma pausa depois do almoço. — I take a break after lunch.
- Gosto de trabalhar em um lugar silencioso. — I like working in a quiet place.
- Como você organiza seu dia? — How do you organize your day?
