The short answer
Start with a greeting and say that you have a reservation. Use Tenho uma reserva no nome de… (I have a reservation under the name of…) and spell the name if the receptionist asks. Keep your booking confirmation available so you can show the dates or reservation number if pronunciation is difficult.
Confirm your reservation at reception
A staff member may ask for identification, the number of nights, or whether you have a preference. If you do not understand, ask them to repeat the key detail or show it on the screen. This is clearer than guessing about the room or date.
Boa tarde. Tenho uma reserva no nome de Jordan Lee.
Good afternoon. I have a reservation under the name Jordan Lee.
A reserva é para três noites.
The reservation is for three nights.
Pode confirmar as datas, por favor?
Could you confirm the dates, please?
Ask about the room and what is included
Ask which floor the room is on, whether breakfast is included, and where the elevator is. Incluído means included; horário means schedule or hours. Questions with Onde fica…? and A que horas…? help you find a place or get a time without needing a complicated sentence.
If you have a specific accessibility or room request, state it plainly and ask whether it is possible. Confirm the answer before leaving the desk, especially when a detail affects your plans.
O café da manhã está incluído?
Is breakfast included?
Onde fica o elevador?
Where is the elevator?
O quarto fica em qual andar?
Which floor is the room on?
Get the Wi-Fi details and practical information
You can ask Qual é a senha do Wi-Fi? to get the password or A internet funciona no quarto? to check whether the connection works in your room. Reception staff may give you a printed card or ask you to connect to a network name before entering the password.
Ask about any hotel-specific instruction you need, such as where to leave a key or when the front desk is open. Written directions are useful if you are tired or the reception area is noisy. Do not assume that hours and services are identical at every property.
Qual é a senha do Wi-Fi?
What is the Wi-Fi password?
A internet funciona no quarto?
Does the internet work in the room?
A recepção fica aberta a noite toda?
Is reception open all night?
Confirm check-out before you leave
A que horas é o check-out? asks what time check-out is. You can ask whether you may leave your bags at reception after you check out, or ask for the final bill if you need to confirm a charge. Repeating the time aloud helps you catch a misunderstanding.
