At a Football Stadium in Brazil: Ask for Your Gate and Seat

Learn stadium vocabulary for checking an entrance, finding your section, and asking staff where to go while following the information on your ticket.

The short answer

Portão is a gate, entrada is an entrance, and setor is a section. Before joining a line, compare the gate or section on your ticket with the signs around the stadium. Event layouts and entry rules can vary, so use the current instructions from the organizer.

Check the entrance printed on your ticket

If a sign is unclear, show staff the relevant part of your ticket and ask where that entrance is.

Onde fica o portão indicado no meu ingresso?

Where is the gate shown on my ticket?

Esta fila é para o setor quatro?

Is this line for section four?

Ask where your seat is

Use arquibancada or cadeira only when those terms appear in the venue's signage or ticket details; seating names can differ. The simplest question is onde fica meu lugar? (where is my seat?). Give the section, row, and seat number if you need help.

An usher may point or walk you toward a staircase. Listen for direita (right), esquerda (left), and subir (go up).

Meu setor é o quatro, fileira B, assento doze.

My section is four, row B, seat twelve.

Preciso subir ou descer para chegar à fileira?

Do I need to go up or down to reach the row?

Find facilities and ask for help

Banheiro is restroom and saída is exit. Ask staff to point out the nearest facility or the route back to your gate. Keep your ticket accessible in case you need to show your section again.

For access needs, ticket problems, or entry requirements, contact the stadium or event staff through its official channel. General vocabulary cannot establish current venue rules.

Onde fica o banheiro mais próximo?

Where is the nearest restroom?

Por favor, como volto para o portão cinco?

Please, how do I get back to gate five?

Put it into practice

Follow the current signs and ticket details, and ask staff to confirm the gate, section, and seat when you are unsure.
