The short answer
Suco is juice. A menu may distinguish suco natural, made with fresh fruit, from juice made with polpa (frozen fruit pulp). The exact menu varies, so ask how a particular flavor is prepared if freshness matters to you.
Name the fruit and ask how the juice is made
Tem suco natural de maracujá?
Do you have fresh passion-fruit juice?
Esse suco é feito com fruta ou polpa?
Is this juice made with fresh fruit or pulp?
Request less sugar or no ice
Sem açúcar means without sugar, and sem gelo means without ice. If you want a little sugar rather than none, say pouco açúcar. Ask first whether the juice is already sweetened, especially when it comes from a prepared mix.
Pode fazer sem açúcar e sem gelo?
Can you make it without sugar and without ice?
Já vem adoçado? Se não, pode colocar só um pouco de açúcar?
Is it already sweetened? If not, could you add just a little sugar?
Choose water or milk and say whether it is to go
Some fruit drinks can be blended with water or milk. With water is com água; with milk is com leite. End the order with para viagem if you want a takeaway cup.
Quero uma vitamina de banana com leite, por favor.
I’d like a banana smoothie with milk, please.
Pode fazer com água? É para viagem.
Could you make it with water? It’s to go.
Put it into practice
Mention fruit, preparation, sugar, and ice separately so the employee can confirm each preference.
