The short answer

A florist is a floricultura and a bouquet is a buquê. Tell the florist the occasion, approximate budget, and preferred colors. If you do not know the flower names, describing the color and size is enough to start.

Choose a bouquet for the occasion

Queria um buquê pequeno para um aniversário.

I’d like a small bouquet for a birthday.

Você consegue montar algo em tons de amarelo?

Can you put together something in shades of yellow?

Ask about price and include a card

Cartão means card. Ask whether a written message is included and how many words fit. If the arrangement is for someone else, spell the recipient’s name slowly to avoid a mistake.

Esse arranjo fica dentro do meu orçamento?

Is this arrangement within my budget?

Pode incluir um cartão com esta mensagem?

Can you include a card with this message?

Confirm delivery details

Entrega means delivery. Give the recipient’s address and phone number, then confirm the delivery window and fee. For pickup, ask when the bouquet will be ready and whether it should be kept in water.

Vocês entregam neste endereço? Qual é a taxa?

Do you deliver to this address? What is the fee?

Que horas o buquê fica pronto para retirar?

What time will the bouquet be ready for pickup?

Put it into practice

Name the occasion and budget, then confirm the card message and delivery or pickup plan.
